What's New in Aaras Accessories?

As you may know/not know I have recently created a Facebook page that sells accessories and though this post is lonnnggg overdue...I'd like to share "What's New in Aaras Accessories?"

Alongside our usual unique hand-picked jewellery pieces, we now have a capsule collection of hibabs! Not just any hijabs...but the hijabs on every budding hijabi's wish list....THE MAXI HIJAB!

Maxi hijabs have become very popular recently as they offer so much more coverage and ways of styling
than your usual thin narrow hijabs. I have hunted high and low to bring in the best quality hijabs at a price worth paying for!

All these gorgeous hijabs are very affordable- they are all under £4! Specific prices  and measurements can be found on the Facebook page (link below)

Trends: Collar Necklaces

Soooo...I thought I'd start off my first fashion post with a trend that I just adore right now....yep...COLLAR NECKLACES!!!

Cleopatra-inspired heavy jewelled collars were all over the runway, namely Chanel with its "Paris-Bombay" collection showcasing exquisite jewelled pieces...

So to keep up with this uber-flattering trend...I present you with CJW's first ever: SAVE, SPEND, SPLURGE! Who says we need to break the bank to look fabulous?

SAVE!
In at a mere £4 this pretty white pearl necklace will jazz up the plain blouse or tee, wear with a contrast colour for maximum effect...

SPEND!
This picture does this no justice! This fabulous gold-jewelled necklace from Zara can be used day-to-evening. Throw it over a white tee and let the bling do the talking. At £19.99 its a wardrobe staple you can used for everrrr!

SPLURGE!
From Topshops premium range this beauty comes in at £45, but its not hard to see why. This statement necklace would be the finishing touch to any plain evening dress- you wouldn't need anything else! This Egyptian-inspired piece would be something I'm sure even Cleopatra wouldn't be seen without!

So that concludes my first Trend: Save, Spend, Splurge post! Remember you don't need to break the bank to look fabulous!

Till next time...

Ramadhan: Day 3

Ramadhan is here! Hope everyone makes full use of this blessed month that comes but once a year...

Even though Ramadhan is about so much more than abstinence from food...nevertheless its like the elephant in the room! Here are some tips for overcoming hunger and thirst in Ramadhan...

DRINK!! Sound obvious but its surprising how less people drink between Iftaar and Sehri- drink as much water or fruit juice between these times to rehydrate the body as much as possible and readjust the fluid levels over the month....(oh and try to cut down on caffeine drinks e.g. tea and coffee)

EAT!! Yes those samosas may look sooo tasty BUT eating slow-digesting foods e.g. rice will fill you with energy for longer and you'll be less hungry! Aim for a well-balanced diet during Ramadhan that contains food from each food group. Turn your plate of fried food into a plate of rainbow wonder!

AVOID! The tasty samosas have been mentioned before, fried foods can be enjoyed in moderation BUT too much and they cause indigestion and heartburn. And for all you tea-lovers out there (myself included) too much tea at Sehri can make you pass excess urine during the day which contains salts that your body needs during the day! Finally, dont eat too much at Sehri as your stomach adjusts to how much you eat!

Aaand...that is it I think! Quite alot there to digest but I do hope it is of use!
Till next timee...Wasalamz...
